WHY DON'T WE GET THE BASICS OUT OF THE WAY.
What's up? My name is Jackson Dale Buchanan; named after my father (middle name, of course), but I just go by Jackie. To be honest, not really sure why my parents picked my name. It had to be because they liked it, but as for hidden meanings, there are none.
I'm the oldest Buchanan at twenty-one years young and the only male child. I go to the University of Illinois and I am currently a junior studying culinary arts. Why? Because I'd like to become a chef someday, maybe. I have three--I'm sorry, two younger sisters: Katie and Carrie. I wouldn't say I'm protective, per se. Just, like to keep an eye on them in case they need my help. I wouldn't let anything happen to them, that's for sure. Katie is already dating which worries me. I try to keep tabs on all of the guys she "befriends" and it's not that hard when you are everyone's favorite barista. I've got al the connections I need.
I am roughly 6 feet and 2 inches tall. I am taller than both of my parents. I probably get it from my grandfather. My hair? Well, most of the time I just let it be. Maybe run my fingers through it a couple times
gel it up and that's about it. It's between a medium brown and dark brown, depends on the weather, I guess. I work out so I am in good physical shape. I like to run a lot and do the occasional weight lifting. Katie always says she could beat me in a race but between you and me, I could totally lap her. *laughs*
I HEAR YOU HAD QUITE THE CHILDHOOD...
My chilhood was pretty normal...Almost. My father is a computer wiz and good at designing things. Katie refers to him as "nerdy" but I think he is just really smart tenchology-wise and in every other way. *definition of nerdy* He's really fun to be around and could lighten any mood. Mom, well she's a different story.
Being the oldest, I felt like it was my responsibility to watch after my little sisters. First, there was Beth. She was quite the handful and always very dramatic. She turned my hair grey (figuratively speaking). Next, there was Katie. She was not as dramatic as Beth, but she had her good days and bad. She was the smarter one and listened to mom and dad more. Well liked and very friendly, while Beth was very prissy and stuck up. Then came Carrie. She was the quiet one of the bunch and I didn't mind at all. Her and Katie were more alike in ways and got along much better then with Beth. Now I know why Beth was different from us. She was not really a Buchanan. She was mom's child, but not dad's. While the rest of us inherited dad's sense of humor and people-person-personality, Beth didn't. She was more like mom and probably her real father. Though it was kind of shocking finding that out, it didn't surprise us like it should have.
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR LIKES AND DISLIKES?
I like pizza....Actually, I may even love it. Meat lovers. *mouth water* That is all I have been eating since I've started college, unless we cook something in classes then I'll have that. I also enjoy cooking. Always have. My favorite dish is Baked Alaska because it is fun to make. The best part is setting it on fire. OK, call me crazy but believe it or not, I like my job. It's something I like doing I guess. Not to mention all of the coffee I get from messed up orders. I also enjoy spending time with my family. Well, mostly my sisters. My parents..Well I've been kind of keeping my distance with. I'm not happy about what my mother did and how it has affected my sisters. It's just--- I don''t really want to talk about it.
I really don't like bugs. I'm not scared of them, before you start to laugh. I just don't like them in my kitchen and they are just disgusting. Something else I don't like? I guess these kids like to wear their pants around their knees. Whatever, not judging them at all. But it just drives me crazy. If their pants don't fit, then they should consider letting their mothers dress them. I don't like sauerkraut. I like the pork, but you will never catch me eating those little things that look like worms. I don't like clubbing either. Or any wild parties. Not my thing. I mean, a few drinks with some buds is cool, but I'm not the kind of guy to go out and get hammered. Where does that get you in life? Also, smoking is not my thing. Never tried it. Probably never will.
HOW ABOUT SOME TURN ONS AND TURN OFFS?
I love a girl who has class. And by class, I don't mean Kate Middleton, I mean Kate Winslet. She can be classy and she has a bit of a wild side, but she knows how to control herself. I also have a big thing for brunettes. There are so many blondes already. I just favor the dark hair. Also, natural beauty. There is nothing worse than when girls cake make up on their face. It doesn't look natural at all. They look too fake.
Turn off? Fake body parts. It just bothers me. Confidence is good for women to have and when they have none, it just turns me off. Self consciousness. I can't stand when a girl is constantly worrying if she looks fat or asking me if her make up looks good. To be honest, they look better without make up anyways. And lastly--Drum-roll please! Bad hygiene! I could probably try to look past everything else, but bad hygiene is something I'm not willing to negotiate.
I HEAR YOU'VE GOT SOME NASTY HABITS...
I guess...I tend to worry a bit too much when it concerns my sisters. But who can blame me? I mean, with all the things they have gone through and everything that has happened, of course I worry! And with a good reason too. It tends to stress me out, but I try to not show it much. I'm also a perfectionist when it comes to food. I love to cook and if something does not look right, I'll throw it away.
WHAT ABOUT PHOBIAS? HAVE ANY OF THOSE?
I am terrified of heights. I admit it and I'm not ashamed at all. I don't even travel in airplanes. Don't plan on it any time soon, either. Sharks are another fear of mine. I'll go to the beach, but I won't go swimming in the ocean. I like to swim in clear water so I can see what I am swimming with.
TERRIFYING! HOW'S THE LOVE LIFE GOING?
Pretty steady, I guess. I mean, I have friends that are girls, and I have close friends that are girls. Some closer than others, some I don't talk too much. I'm not the type of guy to just get with a girl for a night and move on to another. I'd actually like to settle down and find the right girl. And if you're wondering, no I'm not a virgin, but I'm twenty-one years old. I can't be a virgin forever. I am one-hundo percent straight, by the way.
WHAT ARE YOUR MAJOR GOALS AFTER GRADUATION?
Become a big time chef in Chicago, own my own restaurant. That is one goal I will never give up on. Maybe in the distant future I'd like to get married -if I find the right girl- and have a couple kids. But not anytime soon. I'd like to finish college first before anything. That's my most important goal, at the moment.
BEFORE WE GO, WHAT'S YOUR BIG SECRET?
My secret? Well, my hair doesn't stay like this on it's own. I use hair gel. I'm guilty as charged.
Even though he will never admit it, he is still very mad at his mother. He doesn't want to let his sister's know because he is trying to tell them to forgive her because that is their mother.
AND WHAT ARE YOUR VIEWS ON SECRET SAFE?
To be honest, it's way too immature for me to even acknowledge. I try to stay above what goes on in high school unless it involves my sister. But before I saw it on some gossip blog, I'd hope she'd come tell me first. But, it's not really my cup of tea.
THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.
I always have time for a good interview. This doesn't go on record though, right?

A jog around the park had been the perfect start of Jackson's day. It always energized him and pumped him up. The adrenaline that coursed through him every time his feet came in contact with the concrete was all he needed to keep going. He liked to go early enough to where there was no one around but himself and his thoughts just so he could clear his head. Everything going on in life right now gave him much stress. Especially with Katie. The news about her BPD was terrifying. She had been through so much this past year and this was the straw that broke the camel's back. Jackie made a promise to himself and to Katie that everything would work out and be OK. He would not let anything bad happen to this family again. No matter what he had to do.
He huffed breathlessly as he walked fast paced to the entrance of his town house. The first thing he did when he entered was rush to the refrigerator to grab a fresh, cold bottle of water. He barely breathed as he guzzled the drink, his adams apple bobbing with every swallow. A cool drizzle of water ran down his chin and then made it's way down his bare chest. It felt good, so he didn't bother wiping it away. Setting the water down, he pulled out his phone and punched in a phone number.
